The girl steps out from behind a rain barrel, rubbing one hand over her opposite arm, "I guess I need to work on my hiding skills huh?" She crosses over to stand before you, "Sorry I followed you, but I saw your eyes and thought that you might have been sent to help us." She looks nervous, glancing at each person as they pass by and scanning the shadows in the nearby alleys. "Ever since Fletcher took over Adrift, things have been getting worse and worse." She watches someone in a gray cloak walk past intently, then whispers, "Is there somewhere we can talk?"

She couldn't help but chuckle softly at the girl and nodded. "Come I'll share my lunch with you." She said as she motioned for the girl to follow her back to the well groomed pike, figuring it was the safest place to talk, since she figured it would be empty this time of day, if not they could always talk in her room. Maybe this girl would be able to give her the information she needed to take care of Bruno or at least give her information that she could take back to the high light bringer that he could use. walking the rest of the way back to the well groomed pike in silence she occasionally glanced at the little girl " What's your name?" she asked as they walked.

"Annabelle." She says absentmindedly, her eyes still flitting from shadow to shadow. She mostly follows a half dozen paces behind you, or off to the side depending on the local foot traffic. You watch her look deeply into the shadows in alleys, and scan rooftops. Anybody in a gray cloak gets her full attention, though she tries to hide that she's even seen them at all. From what you can tell, nobody has taken notice of her or you at all. Most people are just going about their business. The Harbour District is always busy with sailors, labourers and merchants traveling to complete their business. There is a sense of bustle, and hurry about the district. It is said that excrement flows down hill, and the Harbour District is literally at sea level. Can't get much lower than that.
You arrive at the Well Groomed Pike. The door is locked, but your key grants you access. Once inside you can hear Yoseph singing in the kitchen. He's not very good, but not awful either. His voice must have drowned out the chime, since he didn't come out to investigate the noise of it. Whether in your private room, or in the dining room once you say that it's safe to talk Annabelle immediately starts, "It's horrible. He forces us to work on the grounds." She holds up her hands to make air quotes, "To keep up appearances" she says with a mocking quality. "Once you're big enough, he gives you to them for training" That last word has the same mocking tone. "We're taught how to steal, and to sneak where we don't belong to gather information for them." Everything she has said up until this point has come out in a rushed single breath, but now she grows somber, "Those that don't show a talent for that are taken elsewhere, and they come back quiet, with distant looks and tears in their eyes."

She motioned Annabelle over to table near the large fish tank and took a seat. Listening while she talked quickly she let her go until she was finished before pushing some food towards her. having split the bun in half after putting some meats and cheeses on it and giving Annabelle the seeds and nuts that yoseph had packed for her as well. She motioned for her to eat while she picked up her own half of her sandwich and took a bite as she thought over what was said. After chewing and swallowing the bite in her mouth she paused to look at Annabelle " Who exactly is doing the training?" She asked as she knew there were two rival thieves gangs so she needed to know which one she was dealing with exactly. Perhaps she could work out some kind of arrangement with the high light bringer at the temple in order to get the children to safety before dealing with that man. It was obvious from what the girl had said that he definitely needed to be destroyed but she needed to protect the children as well. So she would have to figure out some way to hide them when she dealt with the man. Though the thought of killing another man was not something Pelor had asked of her before she done her share of killing on her ship when pirates tried to attack them. Though the captain usually tried to keep her away from it all, he didn't want to be the reason she became a fallen, though what he hadn't known was she had been close to falling for so long that she no longer remembered a time that she was pure in thought as most assimars are.

She looks you in the eyes, "Why the Shadow Hand of course." She takes a handful of seeds, carefully slipping them into a pouch at her hip. She eats half the nuts before adding, "The training takes place all over the Harbour District. None of my training has been in the same place twice." She polishes off her food far too quickly to be healthy, "The trainers are almost always different too, except for one guy. He's always around, but never speaks to us directly." She describes him in detail, then says, "Look I've got to go. I was only supposed to follow you, to find out where you're staying." She stands and takes a few steps toward the door, before turning back to add, "Can I have some 'Nix?" Image

She watched her head towards the door. "If you want my help you cant tell anyone where I'm staying" she said as she stood and walked towards the girl. She didn't know what she meant by nix but she wasn't concerned with that at the moment. She couldn't risk yoseph or myst getting hurt because of her now. bringing the girl back here probably wasn't the smartest move but she would have to deal with this later and warn myst and yoseph and then perhaps she would move to the temple sooner than she planned in order to protect them.

A look of panic crosses her face, “You have to help.” She squeals, “I don’t know how you found out about our plight, but you’re the only one that knows.” After a moment of you calming her down, she finally breaths out along breath, “I was just going to tell them that you went into the Wayfarer’s Rest. That place is pretty busy, and popular with new arrivals.” She holds out her hand, palm up, “What about the ‘Nix?”

"What is nix?" She asked unsure what she was asking for at the moment. As long as the girl told them the wrong place and it kept yoseph and myst safe that was her current concern, she would deal with explaining the new information to the high light bringer and possibly yoseph and myst later when they had time and see what they had to say about these new developments. They were the only people that she could trust here. That seemed to understand her dreams at least.

She looks at you with confusion, rolling her eyes, "Oh you are new here, eh?" She doesn't wait for a response, but goes on to say, "'nix are money. There are four types of coins. The most valuable are called Platinum Providence. Made of platinum, sun on one side, man's face on the other. Next is 'Nix, or Gold Phoenix. Made of gold, flaming bird on one side, face on the other. Then comes the Silver Protector. Made of silver, knight on one side, face on the other. Lastly the copper penny, coat of arms on both sides." She pulls a silver protector and a few copper pennies out of a pouch at her side. Having come from another imperial city, you recognize the types of coins and their values. (1pp = 10gp = 100sp = 1000cp) You had never heard anyone call a gold phoenix as a 'nix before.

"Oh" Was all she managed to say as she looked down at the girl and sighed before reaching into her pouch and pulling out a gold piece and handing it to her. "Dont spend it all in one place. I will check in when i can." she said as she watched the girl, debating if she should go back to the temple and speak with him or wait till tomorrow. Deciding she should just wait till tomorrow she waited till the girl left before locking the door again and then going to say hi to yoseph.

She shrugs, “I won’t get to spend it at all. It’s going to get taken from me when I get back. They track how much we collect, rewarding the best earners, and punishing the worst.” She cracks the door, peeking this way and that before slipping outside and heading toward the stair.
You still hear Yoseph humming as you approach the kitchen door. Just as your hand touches the wood you hear him exclaim, “Hey!” As the door opens a cloud of flour dust fills the room. Yoseph and Myst are standing very close, noses almost touching. Myst’s hands are covered in flour, and her nose has a blob of some sort of icing on it. Yoseph’s face, and most of the front of himself is covered in flour. The two seem frozen, staring into one another’s eyes. Both have huge smiles on their faces.

Realizing she has interrupted something she steps back letting the door shut hoping they didn't notice her, her cheeks slightly red with embarrassment for having intruded on whatever was going on. walking back into the main room she quickly cleans up her table and then after a quick glance around the room trying to decide if she should just go up to her room or back outside. Her mind a jumble of thoughts so she decides to head back out with the intent of heading to the harbor, knowing the sound and smell of the ocean would help her think and maybe figure out her next course of action. Tucking her hands in her pockets as she walked doing her best to pay attention to where she was going. She managed to make it down to the harbor, glancing up at the boats she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if perhaps her captain and crew had made it here with her. She was sure things would definitely be different than they are now. with a sigh and a shake of her head she continues along past the boats looking for a quiet dock to sit down on where she hopefully wouldn't be bothered to much.

Myst and Yoseph each take a step back from the other. Myst goes to the cat that is laying across the back door way. As she crosses the room, a glob of water rises up from the sink, wraps around her hands and then floats back to the sink carrying all the flour she was covered in. She scritches the creature under the chin with her now clean and dry hands. Even from the doorway you can hear the cat purr. When Yoseph stepped back he rubbed the back of his neck, sighed, and then walked over to the sink to wash the using off his neck. That’s all you managed to see before you slipped silently from the room.
You gather up the stuff that wrapped your food, and store it behind the bar where you have seen Yoseph store things before. Wiping the table down quickly, you make your way out of the Well Groomed Pike. The lock clicks as you turn the key.
You turn right, and make your way back to the stair, remembering that turning left leads to a dead end. Wharf Lane is one of the quieter streets in the Harbour District, and you don’t come across anybody until you reach The Stair.
That’s when you see the largest man you’ve ever seen. He is so big he could be a giant. He stands six and a half feet tall, and he is so well muscled that his muscles seem to have muscles of their own. He causally holds the haft of a massive hammer. The head of the hammer is made from a full sized barrel. He walks with a woman in a purple dress. Her long blonde hair comes half way down her back in soft waves. She wears a black tricorn captains hat, with a long purple feather sticking up from it. From the way they move, you get the feeling that the big guy is following the lead of the young woman.
Turning down The Stair, you make your way down to the harbour. Dozens of piers jut out into the cliff sheltered water. Most contain small fishing vessels, sloops, or caraval. Three of the pier contain larger ships, including one where all the ships fly the imperial flag. The navy pier is guarded by a half dozen soldiers, while the rest either have their own security or rely on the trios of guards that patrol the Harbour District.
Clusters of sailors chat amongst themselves, or work on ropes and nets along the dockside. Labourers carry their burdens, and barkers hawk their wares. The place is buzzing with early afternoon activity. You find yourself a relatively quiet location, and sit with your thoughts while you observe the huddle and bustle.

Sitting down and watching the hustle and bustle of the docks and the sound of the waves lapping against the piers brings her a measure of comfort she hasn’t felt since before her ship was attacked. Glancing out at the water she ran her fingers threw her hair and sighed. "so i've found him but what exactly am i supposed to do with him, i cant just take him out there will be to much backlash and to much attention on me." she mutters to herself her words barely a sound leaving her lips as she sits there in the warm sun just lost in her thoughts.

The water is indeed calming, mostly flat with very little in the way of waves. Most of the disturbances in the water come from passing ships. Your mutterings are met with no response, aside from a large gull squawking up at the sky. A woman passes with two small children. All three are drying their hair with towels, and the mother carries a bag of damp swimming costumes. Two wagon drivers end up in a standoff, with neither wanting to give way to the other. The exchange gets rather heated before the Pins arrive and sort out the situation. All of this is on top of the normal hustle and bustle of the Harbour District that is constant while the sun is in the sky.

After sitting for a while and seeming to get no answer or response from her patron she gets up and brushes herself off before heading back towards the well groomed pike, hoping this time she isn't interrupting them at all. Making sure she doesn't get lost on her way back this time and keeping an eye out incase any of the children are trying to follow her again. she really cant afford to give out any more money at the moment. At least not till she goes back to the temple and the high light bringer gives her a job like he offered.

As you carefully observe the people around you, you don’t think anyone is following you specifically. There are plenty of people out and about, just as you have come to expect from observing the area for the last couple hours. Before long you arrive back at Wharf Lane, and find yourself standing outside the Well Groomed Pike. As you approach the door it opens, and an attractive Human woman steps through. A moment later a well dressed Human follows her out. As soon as he steps down beside the woman, he offers the lady his arm and she takes it immediately. She leans her head on his shoulder and they head off down the road.
Entering into the Well Groomed Pike, you are greeted by Yoseph who directs you to the same table you ate at the day before. “Welcome back, I’ll be with you shortly.” Once seated, you take stock of three other tables that are occupied at the moment. An Elven couple, a merchant with the look of a sea captain about him, and a woman and her three children.

As she walks in she smiles at yoseph and then takes her seat quietly watching everyone around her, the merchant who looks like a sea captain catches her attention the longest and she wonders if perhaps there is news about her old crew and ship, maybe just maybe someone else survived though she knew better than to get her hopes up about it. Turning her gaze back to staring at the fish tank not wanting to be rude and stare for to long as she waits for yoseph to come over. Curious about what todays menu is as his food is definetly some of the best she has had in a long time.

That merchant captain glances up at you almost as soon as you start to observe him. He smiles pleasantly enough. His features are plain, and there really isn't anything remarkable about the man himself. His equipment is another matter all together. Tucked under his wide brimmed hat is a silver circlet wrapped in vines and fur. Peeking out from under his finely embroidered coat sleeve is a hint of metal. The metal glows slightly, illuminating the inside of his sleeve. Lastly, the cloak he is wearing has veins and ridges that remind you of wings, and the clasp by his throat seems more like a couple of hooked claws. The captain gestures for you to join him. If you do so he stands as you arrive, moving to push in your chair.
Yoseph arrives shortly thereafter. Whether at your own table, or the captain's table, he places before you a meal of slow simmered moose rump, with palm nuts and hickory. A salad of cooked Waterdeep onion, cooked tigernut and apricots. He places a glass of aquamarine liquid, with metallic swirls and lots of crushed ice. The drink smells like ginger. Yoseph smiles, adding "Be sure to take that one slow. It packs a bit of a punch and has been known to stir up certain feelings." A mild blush creeps onto Yoseph's cheeks, but he quickly turns away to hide it.

when the captain notices her she blushes slightly realising she had been caught and gets up and goes to join him at his table." thank you"she says when he pushed in her chair. Not used to such gentleman actions. glancing up when yoseph brings over the food and drink she nods." thank you yoseph" she says as she glances at the drink cautiously before turning her attention to the captain. "its nice to meet another sea traveler," she says as she picks up her drink and takes a small tentative sip of the aquamarine liquid.

"You are most welcome." The man says as you thank him for pushing in your chair. Returning to his side of the table, he removes his hat and bows with a flourish, "My name is Captain Johnathon Smithe." With your background, you recognize that name immediately. This man is a legend. His story from what you recall goes a little like this: He was a minor merchant from a non-noble family. He managed to secure a massive loan, some say ten thousand gold pieces, to sponsor an expedition to the Lawless Sea. Once there he united many of the disparate islands into a loose coalition and built a trading empire. Some of the stories about this man are outlandish though, you heard that he once defeated a Blue Dragon single handedly, with a single slap to the face. That couldn't have happened, could it? The stories dance across your mind in quick succession, jumbling your mind and scattering your attention.
The smell of the food Yoseph brought snaps you back to reality, and you're not sure how long you've been sitting here lost in thought. Glancing up at The Captain, capitols intended, he is busying himself with carefully cutting up what remains of his own meal. As soon as you begin to focus again, he glances up and smiles. He looks you right in the eyes, unlike most people who have trouble meeting your pupil-less gaze, "I see that my reputation precedes me. Honestly, I could not have done anything in the Lawless Sea without the adventurers I hired. They kept me safe, so that I could negotiate my way through hostile seas." He takes a bite of his food, as you sip your drink. It tastes of ginger, with an undercurrent of cinnamon. The drink has a bit of a bite to it, and it makes your body tingle as it goes down. "I have a bit of a confession to make." He says after swallowing, and patting his lips with a napkin, "I have had few interactions with the angel blooded, and I have never met a dark skinned Aasimar before. To borrow a line from an associate back in the Lawless Sea, 'What's your story?'" For the quote near the end there his voice changes as if he is impersonating someone he knows.

"I’m Kamiko Ferison, most call me iko though, and well they did on my old ship." she says and glances down at her plate of food. I can’t believe I’m sitting here having dinner with such a legend, if only my captain could see me. I miss them, why do I have to have visions to save this city and yet I couldn’t have one to warn my captain and save him and the crew, yet another time my gift has been more of a curse. Her thoughts a bit of a jumbled mess as she stares down at her food for a few minutes, before she cuts some of it up and eats a bite or two, enjoying the wonderful flavors. “I was crewmate on the gliding sun till it was attacked by pirates and went down not far from here. I was the only survivor as far as I know, Caption took a blade that was meant for me and pushed me overboard, I washed up on shore a few days ago.” She said as she ate another bite of food before carefully wiping her mouth with her napkin. Before looking up at him again, normally not the type of person to share her story with people she has just met but he is a fellow sea farer so she felt a bit more comfortable and perhaps he knew about her old ship. Wait he said he has met other angel touched like myself, but not seen any with my complexion, I wonder how many others he has met, I’ve never come across another like myself, even in my home town I was the only one, and he doesn’t seem scared of my eyes, almost everyone is scared of my eyes, I should be careful and not stare too much. With that last thought her eyes glance downwards to stare down at her food, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.

The Captain quietly finishes his meal while you talk, but his attention on you never falters. People enter the Well Groomed Pike, while others leave, but the entire time you have his undivided attention. You feel like you're the only person in the world to him, and that feels good. Once you've finished, he smiles warmly and says, "It is truly a pleasure to meet you Kamiko Ferison. Kamiko is such a beautiful name, I think I will stick with that if that is acceptable to you?" Once you give your blessing, he continues, "You said the Gliding Sun, yes?" Once you agree, he adds, "Excuse me a moment, please." He then turns away in his chair, and plugs his ear with a finger. After a moment he begins to speak quietly, "Lo'ari, could you please have the Gliding Sun located for me? I need to know if it was scuttled or stolen." He goes on to give the coordinates where the ship was when it was attacked, though you never mentioned them while telling the story. "Yes, Lo'ari I will be back to the ship shortly."
The Captain turns his attention back to you, "Sorry about that Kamiko. My companion will know what happened to your ship within the hour." His expression turns curious for a moment, then he asks, "If you were pushed overboard, then it is possible that the pirates did not kill all of your companions. The pirates might have just been after your ship."

"it is possible and part of me is hopeful that they are alive, they were my family, the captain took me in when i was younger so i have well had been with them for many years. though why they were after my ship is beyond me, we were only a merchant ship heading here to pick up cargo." She says as she continues to stare down at her food. Eating a bite now and then, still a bit lost in thought. how did he know where my ship went down, even I don't know its exact coordinates, maybe he knows more about my ship than he is telling me, what if he is the one who attacked my ship and he plans to kill me now. I'm such a foolish girl for being so trusting, i know nothing other than the stories told about this man and here i am trusting him. Pelor please don't let me be right. with a slight shake of her head she tears herself away from her thoughts and focus's back on eating her meal hoping he didn't notice that she was so lost in her own thoughts. Picking up her drink she takes another small sip careful not to drink it to fast as yoseph had warned her to be careful. Glancing up at him she realized he had finished his food already. "please don't let me keep you if you have things to do." she said as she glanced down at her half eaten food. knowing she should finish it as she didn't want to offend yoseph. it was delicious her mind was just wandering and she was distracted, having not expected to run into someone so famous as the captain seated across from her.

“Your Captain sounds like a good man, taking you in like that. He seems like the kind of fellow that would do anything for his crew. I try to treat my crew well too. I developed magic stones to keep the whole ship clean in minutes, mostly because I don’t want my crew doing anything I don’t want to do.” He shakes his head, seeming disgusted, adding, “The bilge. So gross.” He looks up for a moment, adding, “I try to lead away parties personally, so that any dangers faced by my crew have to face me first.” Looking at the man, he is not imposing. You don’t even see a weapon on him, but something about him says that he doesn’t feel like he needs one.
Yoseph swings by and clears The Captain’s dishes. “Can I get two servings of dessert please? To be delivered when the lady is finished?” The Captain asks. Yoseph replies, “Of course Captain.” Before bringing the dishes to the back for cleaning.
“As to what they might have been after…” He pauses to choose his words, before continuing, “They might have just been looking for a ship to retrofit into their fleet.” You notice a tattoo, or maybe a brand on his hand. It looks like a jet black skull. Which only raises your fear about him possibly being a pirate himself higher.
At the height of your fear he reaches across the table and takes your hand. There is nothing aggressive in the way he moves. As he places his other hand on top of yours sandwiching your hand between his, you feel a fatherly connection. He leans a little to catch your eyes with his, and says, “Seems I have tipped my hand once again. I had nothing to do with the attack on your ship.” He pauses a moment, giving you time to search his eyes for lies. You find nothing in his features or manner that would even hint at lying. His upper hand lets your hand go, and he touches the circlet under his hat. “This device allows me to read the surface thoughts of all those around me. I can delve deeper if I choose, but I find that invasive. You were thinking about your surroundings when the ship was attacked, and I have a collection of incredible maps. The coordinates I gave is the most likely location of the attack.” His grip on your hand is warm and comforting, but loose enough that you could pull away if you so chose.
At your suggestion that he go, he nods, “If you wish it, I will. Personally, I’d rather stay for dessert if you don’t mind my company.” He taps his circlet once again, adding, “I’ll try to focus my attention away from you if that will make you more comfortable.”

Watching him quietly, just taking in everything he has said and trying to process it all, if her eyes weren’t solid white she would look like a lost puppy, instead she just kind of looks like a sad blind dog. Not used to kindness or friendliness from people. “ that’s a useful device, where ever did you get it?” she asked curiously doing her best to quell her fears of the captain. As he had done nothing to truly threaten her in there time together. “ you don’t have to leave, I only meant that if you had things to do or places to be that I didn’t want to slow you down.” She mutters the last part as if she had been told many times over that she would just slow people down. Her one hand still rested in his and she almost seemed to have forgotten about it but in reality it had her complete attention. It brought up memories of when her captain had hugged her after nightmares. A fatherly comfort one she had only experienced a few times as her own parents weren’t very loving towards her because of she was angel touched and that had been extremely rare in their part of the world.
Picking up her fork she easily cleared the rest of her food not wanting to make him wait a long time for dessert. If I am in fact the only survivor of the gliding sun, mayhap the captain will let me join his crew once my mission is finished here. Maybe I should ask him if he is looking for another crew member, no I'm sure he doesn’t want to have me on his ship, he doesn’t need an angel touched or rather angel cursed on his ship, it would bring bad luck just like it did to the gliding sun.
Glancing up she realized her hand still rested in his and she carefully pulled it back, knowing he could read her thoughts and hoping he hadn’t heard what had been in her mind just now. She really would need to guard her thoughts around him, well that is if she was to see him around again after today, though she doubted she would. She wasn’t even sure if she would survive the week. I still need to figure out how to deal with the man from the orphanage, I have to help those children. “ I'm sorry I'm not the best company” she said referring to her almost constant silence as she sat with him.

The Captain gives you a bit of a smirk, “Don’t worry about me dear, I can be anywhere I’ve ever been on this plane of existence in a half dozen seconds. Anywhere on another plane in twice that.” He comes across as the humble merchant, but you get the feeling that he is proud of his magical accomplishments.
That fact is confirmed a moment later when he once again taps his circlet, and says, “I crafted this beauty myself actually. It allows me to detect thoughts.” He closes his lips, and finishes his sentence in your mind, ”and communicate telepathically.” He switched back to speaking out loud, “I’ve tweaked the embedded weave to allow me to communicate with animals and plants as well. A fact that has come in handy many times.” He smiles broadly, gesturing toward a bright yellow fish.
You glance at the fish, and says “Can you swim up please?” The fish swims up near the glass, and then elevates, “To prove that is isn’t a fluke, could you go pick up a little pebble from the bottom? Thank you so much Slibboo.” The fish dutifully swims to the bottom and picks up a pebble. The Captain smiles again, once more proud of himself, before making a gesture and a bit of fish food floats up out of his jacket and plops into the water. It zigs and zags to avoid the other fish. It stops directly in front of the bright yellow fish, who immediately drops the pebble and takes the offered food.
“Once you’ve experienced a little more of the world, I’d be happy to have you as a member of my crew. As it stands, I don’t think you’re ready to face the things I deal with on the regular.” He realizes that he was reading your mind again, and gestures vaguely at his circlet again, “Sorry, force of habit.” He takes no offense to you pulling your hand back, just leans back in his chair and makes himself comfortable. Yoseph shows up with two still steaming pieces of pie, dropping them on to the table and collecting your finished dishes.
“My dear, you are fine company. At least when you’re not left to your own thoughts.” He gives you a small smile to soften his comment, before reaching for his fork. “Oh I think you will survive the week, and beyond. To that, tell me about this man at the orphanage, and why those children require saving.”

She jumps slightly when he speaks in her head, not used to anyone but Pelor speaking in her head like that. Watching the fish do as the captain asks has her in a total state of shock, before turning back to him when he mentions her joining his crew. Her dark brown skin tints red on her cheeks as she blushes and glances down realizing he was reading her mind again. If only you knew all the things I have seen, the thought floats threw her mind before she can stop it as she looks down at the pie that yoseph brought over. It smells heavenly and she is sure it will taste even better. Picking up her fork she glances down ashamed and embarrassed when he comments about her being lost in thought.
“Sorry, its not often I have someone to talk to, my appearance alone makes most hesitant to approach me.” She says gesturing towards her eyes with her fork before scooping up a bite of pie. As she is about to eat it she freezes hearing his last statement. With a soft sigh she sets the fork down and takes a sip of her drink as if bracing herself to revisit the visions and everything that had happened the last few days. Explaining everything from the vision she had just before she woke up on the shore to what happened earlier today before she came back here for dinner though she did leave out the part about going and sitting by the docks and about her getting lost earlier in the morning. Not wanting to look even more foolish and childish than she already has especially in front of someone as legendary as the man sitting across from her. carefully picking up her fork and eating the bite of pie off of it as she chances a glance up at him trying to read his expression, waiting for him to decide she was crazy as everyone else always had thought of her as.

By the time you look up after your story you find The Captain leaning back in his chair, fingers tented over his empty plate. He looks… focused. The intelligent glint in his eyes is staring right at the whites of yours. “So you are blessed by Pelor, fascinating.” He takes a moment to gather his thoughts, then continues directly into your mind, ”Seems to me that you need to gather evidence that the Shadow Hand has it’s fingers in that orphanage. Perhaps a ledger or gather some eye witnesses?”

“blessed or cursed depending on how you look at it” she says with a shrug as I look down breaking eye contact and focusing on eating my slice of pie, trying to hide the fact that him seeming to stare at her made her uncomfortable. Though there was nothing in his gaze to indicate maliciousness or hate towards her for what she was. Hearing his words in her head she glances up slightly and gives a nod. Yes but not exactly sure where to start, my visions have never been like this before, usually they make little sense and I am forced to decipher them the best I can on my own. Im not sure how im supposed to stop him as im just one person.
She responds in her head, since this isn’t exactly something that could be talked about out in the open as one can never know exactly who is listening in. glancing back down at her plate she finishes off the last bite before setting the fork aside and leaning back in her seat. Running her fingers threw her long white hair as she looks back up at the captain again. never in a million years did I think I would be sitting across from THE captain and having a conversation with him. A small smile can be seen on her face as she watches him for a few moments before she glances away not wanting to seem more odd than she already is.
