So, as the title sugguests i had myself a terrible dream, my brain has concocted the ultimate d&d game for gore junkies and horror fans alike. It has no name as of yet, but here goes...
You wake up in an unfamiliar place. Ruins of a once great city surround you only dust and cob weds call this place home now. You look around and listen hard for something familiar, someway to get your barrings. Then, you hear it, the sounds of screams and battle. You pull yourself to your feet and head into a ruined building, climbing up the stairs to get a better view and what a view your given. Pale white man-like creatures the size of horse up on their hind legs are battling humans. The humans are losing. You see one creature grab a girl with a sword and throw her into the ground, smashing her face off the ground. Her skull breaks and flies outward in all directions, but her screams don't cease. She's still alive!? Her sword flies from her managed hand and slices mans face off, he grits his teeth and simply ties a rag around his head to hold his face on. He's healing? However slowly you see his wounds stitching themselves together. Are they immortal? What is this madness???
So thats my dream. Horrifying as it was... Lets get something straight; I Haaaaaate horror and gore and all that jazz on a regular basis. I need a special kind of mood to not be absolutely freaked out by it so that dream was strange for me, but i digress. Now, on to game mechanics.
All PC's have an automatic ring of regeneration or some other infinite healing element. Encounters can be as deadly as the DM likes with as much detail to the horror the PC's are subject to. Now, this don't mean the PC's are invincible. It just makes them harder to kill and the ring won't heal unless you have at least one HP but once that falls your done. Or not. Maybe you implement that PC's can regenerate after so long as long as at least one part of them is around? Idk, its up to you. Maybe you can even have it so as long as the body parts aren't disintegrated you can reattach them. Its up to the DM. I just thought this would make a fun game idea. Anyway, enjoy!
