Xanadu takes a single deep calming breath, allowing the tension in his muscles to melt away. The rage displayed in battle is gone in an instant. Without ceremony he marches over to the corpses, and separates the stuff from the body itself. Both bodies are then dragged a little ways out of the campsite to avoid predators, bad smells and bugs. When he returns and Fillin provides him with some relief from his wounds, he glances down and nods appreciatively. "You get some sleep now. I'll make sure they don't come back."

Fillin nods and with an apprehensive glance around the camp once more he settles down onto his bedroll though he spends a bit of time tossing and turning and jumping at seemingly every little sound, before eventually falling into slumber. The rest of the night passes uneventfully and soon dawn is breaking threw the trees.

Xanadu stows the rations, and stabs the spears into the ground near the bodies. He looks down at them for a long moment. They didn’t need to die so senselessly. Nature is a harsh mistress, and this swamp is unforgiving even without frog and lizard people trying to kill him. Xanadu returns to the camp and quickly collects his belongings. “We leave, come.” He says to Fillin, starting to walk back to town before he has finished speaking. The bag over his shoulder moves of it’s own accord, with only the occasional rattle of bone to announce the presence of the skeleton inside.

the light coming threw the trees is what woke him first then he seemed to remember where he was and quickly scrambled up looking for an unseen threat, looking a bit ridiculous as he looked around. Finally realizing that Xanadu was packing up camp he scrambled to pack up and follow after him. Giving a bit of distance between himself and the bag that held the skeleton as they made their way back to town. the walk back to town is uneventful aside from the couple of times Fillin trips or gets stuck in the mud. you would think by now he would have learned to watch his steps more carefully.

As the wall looms into sight Xanadu finally breaks the silence that usually accompanies them when they travel. “Once we arrive, don’t mention what’s in the bag. I doubt they will let us in with an animated skeleton.” Xanadu marches up to the Swamp Gate. Shouting “We’re back.” Toward the waiting guards, hoping they would just open the gate without any questions.

Fillin gives a nod and puts on his best poker face as you both approach the gate, One of the guards looks up, slightly surprised that you both are back so soon but just gives a nod as they were told to expect you two. The gate opens and you are both allowed in without any questions.

Xanadu marches through the streets toward the ferry docks. He tries to find a ferry that doesn’t have too many people to cross the river. Once across the water he makes his way through the commercial district to the High Gate, once again hoping that the guards don’t question him too closely. Once through the High Gate he heads straight for the Light Shrine to demand an audience with the High Light Bringer. Xanadu is careful to stay off of the consecrated ground of the Light Shrine, not knowing what would happen to the skeleton in such a holy place.

Fillin hurries ahead once you both reach the light shrine going to get the high light bringer, since you are carrying the skeleton. Its not long before Fillin returns with the high light bringer. " ahh so you have returned, your companion filled me in though it was quick and a bit jumbled, something about bullywogs attacking you as well." he said as he glanced towards the bag and seemed surprised when it suddenly moved. " did that bag just move?"

Xanadu nods, offense clear on his features, “You wouldn’t take my word about the skeletons, so I brought you proof.” Xanadu tosses the bag at the Light Bringers feet. “Inside you will find one of the dozens of skeletons that are only held in place by a little seaweed or vines. An undead army just waiting to cause havoc in the world.” Xanadu’s tone is gruff, almost to the point of disrespect, but not quite.

" ahh i see, its not that i needed physical proof but i needed more than one person actually seeing this threat, i will send some of my priests to deal with the skeletons quickly as we can not risk them escaping." he said and motioned for one of the others that lingered near by to come and collect the skeleton and dispose of it properly "thank you for bringing this proof though it wasnt required, but thank you none the less." he said glancing at both fillin and you.

Xanadu nods noncommittally, “Perhaps next time you will honour the word of a follower of Bahamut as much as that of Yolanda.” He glances at Fillin as he says that, “Or one of your own.” He tilts his head to one side to glance past the High Lightbringer at the row of acolytes that greet those that come to the Light Shrine. “Either way, I’m glad that it is done.” He nods again, then pivots and starts to walk back toward the High Gate without waiting to see if there was a reward for his multiple trips to the forest beyond the swamp. He’s headed to the Temple to Bahamut to check on the requested supplies to build the compound in the swamps.

The high light bringer paused to say something but Xanadu was already walking away so he simply turned and went back into the shrine to create a plan and deal with the skeletons. Fillin follows behind you quietly as you both head back to the temple of bahamut.
the walk is quiet and uneventful though once you reach the temple it seems to be a bit busier than usual.

Xanadu is normally silent and brooding, but the walk down to the Temple to Bahamut is a study in both silence and brooding. His thoughts are racing around in circles. Thoughts of the new fortress temple he has been given responsibility over. Thoughts about the High Light Bringer, and the Temple of Pelor itself, and their clear disrespect toward the Temple of Bahamut. Thoughts about the Frogmen, and the Lizardfolk tribes. So many things to think about, and none of them getting anywhere.
Once he arrives at the Temple to Bahamut Xanadu grabs the first person that passes by him. "What is going on in here today?"

"supplies have arrived for the new temple we are trying to get them ready to send to the location. " says a small dragonborn that you are currently holding by the sleeve. Once you let him go, he rushes off to help load more of the supplies onto a cart. The larger supplies are loaded onto a cart with the smaller things strapped into baskets and then picked up by the group of people currently near the carts. all in all there seems to be about 6 halflings and the young dragonborn you spoke with. he seems to be checking the harnesses on two axe beaks that are hooked up the the cart.

Xanadu asks around until he can find the Wyrmspeaker. “I’ve finished providing proof to the Pelorians of the undead threat in the forest. What can I do to help?”

"they do need an escort to the temple grounds, as i worry they will easily get lost in the swamps." he says as he glances down at xanadu before glancing back that the group. Seeing that they are nearly ready to depart he looks down at xanadu once again waiting for his answer.

Xanadu nods his affirmation, “I will take them to where they need to go Wyrmspeaker. Will there be guards to defend them while they work?” Xanadu follows the Wyrmspeaker’s gaze and nods again. “I have another thing to report to you. The thing I was to help Planter with was a skeletal corpse located near the forest. I explored a bit of the forest and found a lake full of skeletal undead. I brought the information back to the Pelorians, and they required further proof. So I brought them one of the skeletons.”

"why they couldn't just take your word as a follow of bahamut is beyond me but such is life, now they will believe you anyways we can continue with building the temple as is planned. there will be 3 guards, men of bahamut faith that will travel with you." he says indicating the 3 guards that just showed up dressed in leather armor with swords strapped to their sides. Turning back to Xanadu he lays a hand on his shoulder. " may bahamut guide you and protect you." a soft warm glow seems to envelope Xanadu before fading away. With a nod goes to oversee the packing of the materials lending assistance where needed.

Xanadu helps with whatever needs to be done to get things moving. Once everyone is in motion, Xanadu gathers the three guards to walk with them. He asks them some questions to get to know their skill level, both in combat and in travel through the swamps. He explains where they will be going in vague terms. He warns about the three tribes, specifically the Black Scales since they will always be hostile. Once they reach the Swamp Gate he sets one guard a small distance ahead and behind each corner of the of the rest of the group. Then calls out to the lot of them, "The swamps are a wild place. Lizard Folk regularly attack the supply wagons that travel between Clifton and the Sinkhole." As the look of worry passes over the collected workers, he raises his hands to quiet them, "You don't need to worry about them though. There are three tribes, one is reclusive, one I have laid the groundwork of friendship with, and the last is hostile. This tribe is the smallest tribe, and that's why you have guards. We will handle any threat to this caravan." With that warning, Xanadu motions the group forward taking one of the front positions for himself.

there is an air of nervousness among the workers as the caravan begins moving to their destination in the swamp. The guards are ever vigilant, obviously having spent some time traveling in the swamps. Occasionally the wagon gets stuck in the mud but with everyone's help they are able to get it unstuck relatively easily before continuing on the path. Everything is quiet almost eerily so till suddenly a spear comes flying and hits the side of the wagon burying deep into the wooden side.

Xanadu seeks out the threat, ready to either engage or prevent further hostilities depending on who the aggressor is. He worries that the hidden aggressor is a Black Scale, which would mean no chance for a peaceful end to the situation. Either way, he tells the workers to take cover under the wagon, and the guards to keep their eyes peeled. "They could have us surrounded, check your surroundings before you come to help me out." Xanadu charges off toward the aggressor's direction.

one black scale steps into your line of sight but you know where there is one there is always more. The black scale seems to pause as it sizes you up before charging at you. the sound of weapons clashing behind you, indicates that the other guards are engaging in battle aswell.

Though not a true dragon, Xanadu allows the scaled features of the creature in front of him to channel the rage hidden in his blood. He charges with a primal scream, pick in one hand and shield in the other.

you lash out with the pick and the black scale nearly dodges, the pick just misses its shoulder but cuts across its chest. it lets out a rather angry his as it goes in for a bite, aiming for the arm that holds the pick.

The creature’s teeth sink into the corded muscle that makes up Xanadu’s arm, but can seem to find any purchase to cause any real damage. Xanadu grabs the creature’s jaw, prying it open and shoving the creature back before resetting himself to strike once again.

(sorry i forgot to update it in my notes from when he fought the bullywogs)
The black scale stumbles back and seems to spit as if trying to get rid of the taste in its mouth before drawing a short sword from where it hung at its side. the blade itself looked a bit out of place and was easily recognizable as a Clifton guard blade. obviously one that was taken from a guard during a fight. It charges at xanadu aiming for his heart.

Xanadu doesn’t bother to parry the clumsy strike, instead he pivots and whirls his pick around and into the Lizard Folk’s ribs. Then he shoulder checks the creature to knock it free of his weapon. His blood still boiling Xanadu looks for, and charges the next threat he sees.

As the pick sinks into the lizard folks ribs he seems to crumple to the ground, struggling to breath before its chest stops moving. the other guards simultaneously finish off the rest of the black scales and return to the wagon two sporting gashes the other two just covered in a bit of mud.

Xanadu takes a moment to take a few deep breaths, calming the screaming in his blood. He then kneels to stabilize the wounds of his enemy. He separates the creatures equipment from it, then he pulls out the blue crystal he had all but forgotten about in his bag. Touching the creature with the crystal, it vanishes into it. 'Mission accomplished.' Xanadu thinks to himself, 'I'll have to go visit that scientist for my reward when I'm next in town.'
Standing, Xanadu says, "You two, come here." to the wounded guards. Once they arrive, he holds his belt buckle with one hand and touches their wounds with the other. A platinum glow suffuses the area and their wounds lessen or vanish all together. "You all have done well. Let's get going." Quieter Xanadu will add, "I will deal with the Black Scales later myself." Xanadu takes a moment to search the bodies before catching up with the group.

on the bodies you find a short sword, 3 waterskins, a blow gun with 4 darts, and 2 daggers between the bodies. the guards thank him and move to take their spot around the wagon as it starts moving again. towards the fortress location. The guards ever vigilant.
