Tsunami knew that if the other guard didn't get an answer, he would raise the alarm for the others. Remembering the assumption that the guard inside the hut had made upon hearing her before, she used the information to her advantage. Remaining hidden, she very audibly coppied the playful romping squeals she had heard coming from the open windows of the brothels found in many port towns. "Oh, Tommy, right here? You're such a naughty boy!" She punctuated it with yet another excited squeal of enjoyment.

The guard sounds incredulous when he responds, "Thomas! Are you daft man? I don't know how you got her on the island, but if the commander catches you with her, he will hang you from the yard arm." There is a long drawn out pause, tension building in the air palpably, "When you're done, I want a turn." The light goes away from your hiding spot and focus' elsewhere. When you look to Catherine she is holding her stomach, and you believe her hurt until you see the mirth in her eyes. She appears to be having trouble breathing, because she is silently laughing so hard. When you peek out from your hiding spot, the guard on the deck of the Sea's Song is leaning on his elbows on the far rail looking out into the water. He appears to be talking to himself, but you can't hear a word of it from this distance.

Tsunami took advantage of the guard’s deliberate inattention, and gains as much ground as she can without being noticed. Her heart feels a great deal lighter knowing that she has an out of sorts if she gets caught. It’s somewhat freeing. She has it in her mind to tell Catherine to walk right up to the guard and offer herself up as if the whore brought a friend, but honestly Tsunami doesn’t think the other woman could pull it off. She is a little too proper to be able to pass for a floosy.
Tsunami removes her boots so the heels will not make a racket on the wooden planks. In stockinged feet, she creeps up the dock, closer and closer to the ship. It is between the last bit of cover and the Sea’s Song, that her boot slips out of her grasp and falls, clunking loudly on the dock as it lands. She quickly about-faces, knowing that the guard’s attention will be atop her in a second. Presenting her shapely rear toward the Sea’s Song, she bends at the waist to retrieve her boot, taking her time about it. While she bends, she undoes the first few buttons of her blouse until her cleavage is noticeable. Upon straightening, she turns to smile at the guard. In her best whorehouse cadence, she flirted,
“Ooh, hoo hoo! Tommy said that ye be next.” and she let a conspiratorial smile cross her face as if he were about to receive a prize.

The guard dashes to the railing, and challenges, "What have we here, are you lost man?" When you straighten, and turn the man's eyes lock on your cleavage. "Pardon me good lady, twas the breeches you see." He straightens his clothing, and quickly runs his fingers through his hair. Looking behind you, he frowns slightly, and leans on the rail, "Where is Thomas?" Out of the corner of your eye you see Catherine climbing hand over hand along rope that ties the ship to the pier. If that guard looks even slightly to his right, he will see her for sure.

Tsunami cocked her head back the way she had come as she started to advance up the gangplank toward him. She knew that she had to make this believable; she must pour it on thick. So she did something that only one man left alive had ever witnessed. She giggled. The musical sound tittered as she came to meet him. Then she told him in low tones punctuated with more giggles, “Tommy might have made a bit o’ a mess. He’s tryin’ desperately to get a nice bit out of the fabric of his uniform. It was scandalous, really, he said that someone or another—I forget his name—would have his hide for this, and told me that no one must see him in this state.” She finished with a conspiratorial wink. She sees doubt cause his eyes to start squinting, slowly, like he wants to believe but is mentally warring against his sense of duty that something might be wrong. Killing him here would be a mistake, and her dying here would be a bigger one. So thinking on what got Mac going, she tried to use the guard’s libido as a weapon. She hit the guard with bedroom eyes, and never breaking her gaze, she slowly began to undo button after button down the front of her blouse. The white linnen gaped at the front, showing the inner crescents of her cleavage without falling away from her completely. “But I just think that means that we should retire to the captain’s quarters. If yer not wearin’ a stitch, then thar be no stich to soil.” She can see the tightness of his trousers and undoes the top button of his uniform, and then two more. “Let’s go somewhere a little more private.”

It takes a true master of deception to pull off a fake giggle, and a bit of your predisposition toward not giggling shows on your face like you just ate a lemon. You wipe the expression away quickly, and try to distract him with unfastening your buttons, but he saw it and knows something is amiss. His hand drops to his sword, and half the blade is drawn while he speaks, "Now you hold it right there woman. There are only two people that would be be 'aving Thomas' hide if what you propose happened did in fact happen." His tone makes it clear that he doesn't believe any such thing, "The first would be his wife, and the other would be Mistress Nora our shift commander." It takes a second for you to catch the issue, you said 'I forget his name.' Bah, no way you could have known. His sword comes all the way free, as he steps toward you. Catherine makes a move toward the guard, but she lands a little more loudly than she would have liked when she dropped off the railing to the deck. You see the guard shift so he can see both of you at once.

Tsunami drops the charade immediately at the sight of the emerging steel. She pulls her cutlass and slashes at him across the belly. The man slams his armoured boot into the decking and yells, "To arms! We are under attack!" You see the two guards on the other vessels turn toward the Sea's Song, only to collapse in heaps as Mac and Toby spring into action. The Guard slips his arm into his shield, steps forward. He hacks his blade through the air, and you dodge inside the blow and knock the blade wide of your body. Catherine steps in and slashes the chain across the man's back. He staggers forward a step, but manages to keep his feet.

“Don’t worry, ye’ll live to see another day. We just want what do be rightfully ours.” With that, she lunges forward, her cutlass slicing through the air like a shark’s fin through water. The guard moved as quick as lightning, spinning away from her and deflecting the blade with his own. “Yer outnumbered, it would be in yer best interest to surrender.” She points out. “We’ll be off with our ship, and if yer lucky, we’ll even allow ye to stay on land,” she says with a grin.

Each time the guard moves he stomps his feet, making quite a bit of noise. You know from experience that such a racket above will be much worse below. The only reason for him to be making such a fuss, is if there are more guards inside the ship. More guards that could spring out by that stair over there, or one of three hatches across the ship. Maybe even in the Captains quarters behind you... The guard leans toward you, but keeps his weapon up to defend himself from your blade. You see it a moment before it happens, he has intentionally left himself open to attack from the back. Catherine is already swinging, but it is a feint. He suddenly hops backward, rotating as he does so his armoured hip slams into Catherine's stomach while she is off balance. She staggers to the side, slamming first into, then over the rail of the ship. You hear her curse quietly, the curse is cut off by a too loud splash. You can now hear booted feet moving below deck, at least two sets...

The next few colourful curses to come out of Tsunami's mouth were ones only a sailor would ever use. Had her father heard it, he would have been proud at their sheer vulgarity, and the imaginative way that she linked the crooked words together. They were going to need backup. The loud peal of Tsunami's whistle flew from her lips, summoning not just Mac and Toby, but signaling her mother and father too. Then she came at the man, wasting no engergy on flourishing her cutlass. She went straight for his middle, looking to split more than the seams of his bonnie jacket. The blade slipped across him so smoothly and quickly, that an observer might have mistaken the slash for a miss. But the resistance that Tsunami had felt up her sword arm had told her differently. The man looked down at the front of his uniform, as the crimson of his waistcoat darkened to ruby in a straight horizontal line. He looked up at her with bewilderment in his eyes. What did ye expect? she thought at him, without pity. These aren't wooden swords that we're playin' with. Tsunami, ever ready for a battle, listened to the footfalls below deck, following their progress, and preparing herself as they neared the hatch.

The guard clutches his middle, waivers, and falls sideways against the rail. His eyes look sad as they slowly close, and he slumps in a heap. The footfalls below both lead toward the stairs, so you run toward them. You reach the top of the stairs just as another guard does. He already has his sword in hand, and both of you stab at one another. Yet another guard is behind the third one, and he curses when he see you. He can't get past his companion in the stairs, and turns about to make his way to another exit. You know the ship well, and will won't be long before he is behind you. (2 rounds)

Tsunami curses again as she fends off his attack. Their swords clang metalically, a sound that is percussive and sharp to the ears. Tsunami grits her teeth, but it seems that both of them are skilled and she has a hard time landing a blow. These men are surprisingly good fighters. She wonders if any of them would ever consider a life of piracy. They already take orders now, and apparently from a woman, surely it wouldn't be too great of a change for them. Freeing, really. Perhaps she could press-gang one or two when they escape.

The guard lunges, bringing his blade down to chop into your foot. You leap to avoid the attack, but leave yourself exposed and unable to parry when he turns the attack upward. The blade digs into your calf and drags a furrow of pain upward to mid thigh. The would hurts, and is deep, but didn't hit anything vital. Apparently this guard got the message that you're not playing with wooden swords...

Tsunami screams as the guard’s sword lengthens the wound. As tough as she is, the pain is still excruciating. She grits her teeth and growls, angry at the man who had hurt her, but also at herself for creating the opportunity for it to happen. Now she was going to take his head. Not only would it put an end to the fight, but it would probably make her feel better. How dare this man make her own blood spill upon the decks of the ship that had been her home! Until her escape hidden in a barrel when the Somerset Navy took the Sea’s Song almost a month ago, she had rarely ever been allowed to step foot on land. This ship had been her whole life, and she meant to set it free, not just for the captain and her mother, but for the rest of the crew that must be missing her as much as she did. The weight in tsunami’s heart that the ship’s capture had brought about had not lessened, but hung in her chest, as heavy as an anchor. She would free her ship, or die trying.
“Last chance, landlubber, get off me ship.” “This ship is now the property of the Somerset Navy. If you are claiming that this is your vessel, then that brands you a pirate, and you shall hang for your crimes.” “No, I’ll not be dancin’ the hempen jig while ye still draw breath. I’ll die before I give ye the satisfaction.” “So be it.”
A dangerous smile crosses her face; she was secretly hoping that he would give her her chance for revenge for the cut just given. She tries to step forward on her injured leg, a lunging move that had been trained into her, and she screamed through gritted teeth at the pain. The step turned into a ginger limp out of necessity, and with the weight of her now on her good foot, the relief in her thigh was palpable. She slashed her cutlass upward, cutting the guard between his cravat and his chin.

The guard tries to capitalize on your wounded leg, slashing so that you are forced to tread on it or be wounded, but you expected that. You parry his blade and smash him in the face with fist. The hilt of your blade clasped in your fist makes your fist like a brick, and he staggers falling backward down the stairs with several satisfying thuds. You pivot on your good leg as you hear the hatch open, and the guard pull himself up onto the deck, the man begins to charge at you his sword held high. You see Catherine, sopping with water hidden behind a barrel. She nods at you, and you can't help but smile. She will flank the guard as soon as he engages you.
You have 1 action before the guard attacks on his turn.

Tsunami hears the sound of the hatch opening and a new footfall of boots ascending the last couple of stairs. She allows her eyes to slip closed, and the gentle sound of the water lapping against the Sea's Song's hull seems to magnify to the thunder of crashing waves. It only takes a second, and the pain in her thigh lessens and dissappears, itching slightly as the wound heals itself through Merric's will. She turns to see the angered face of the next one to die. As he hurls himself at her, she looks for a wide open place on the guard where her sword might land on flesh. She tries to swing low as he runs at her, meaning to take him out at the knees, and as her weight shifts to her recently healed leg. Although her injury is gone, her ankle buckles and she goes down. All she can do now is to stick out her good leg as he gets closer, and hope that the man trips on it.

You swing your blade in a wide arc as he approaches, collapsing to one side as your blade misses his legs by inches and you're thrown off balance. He blasts you with a series of lightning quick jabs, one in the thigh, a second beside your navel, and the last a glancing blow to your outer arm near the shoulder. None of the wounds alone would be much trouble, but the lot of them together could be a problem. Catherine tries to sneak up behind him, but her footfalls are far too noisy in her haste to defend you. The Guard turns in time to deflect the blade from piercing his heart, but not from his flesh. You see the blade poke out his back near the shoulder blade, and know that that had to hurt like hell. The man screams in pain, his voice echoing off the cliff faces...

Tsunami is pushed back a few steps from the blows, and she tries desperately to massage the muscle in her leg out of the charlie horse that the impact has given her. She is relieved that she took the time to ask Merric for healing. If she hadn't, she might be unconscious from the pain right now. Catherine's attack gives her the few moments she needs to recover, and as the painful knot loosens, she is able to take a fighting stance again. She tries to swing at the man, but the punch to the arm has made it as week as a guppie. The blade slashes across his middle, but the pressure she is able to exert behind it isn't enough to even cut through his layers of uniform. If looks could kills, the glare she gives him would lay him low. As it is all she can do is relish in the scream he let loose from Catherine's puncturing wound. She tries to move the muscles in her throbbing shoulder and arm, working the blood back into them, and bringing them back to life.

"Ye damaged me ship, ye great lummox!" she tells him, flabbergasted. "How dare ye!" She takes advantage of his trapped state and moves in to punch him squarely in the mouth. However, this man seems to have some brains, and instead of continuing to yank on his sword, he simply lets go of it and fends off her attack, his elbow painfully connecting with her jaw. "She stands there, rubbing the spot for a moment. "Perhaps yer not quite as big of a lummox as I had originally thought." He grined at her. It was a dangerous grin. The guard manages to pull his blade free, slicing it through the air just above your head, the strike so close that it actually knocks your hat off. Catherine shouts, "Make way Captain!" and you press yourself to the wall as the man lurches forward, to reveal Catherine with her foot where his lower back was moments before. The guard smashes his head off the deck and rolls down the stairs. Glancing below you see the two guards, stacked, not moving on top of one another. The Sea's Song is yours! Taking stock of the larger picture now, you see Orellow do a corkscrew flip off the deck of the Navy ship Toby is on. As you follow his movement, you see Embros walking down the main road from the prison with two people, a man and a woman. The man is not Blue Eyed Pete. Mac and Toby are no where to be found. Tsunami begins to yell. She calls her parents to hustle to the beach, she bellows at Orellow to disable the rudders of the naval ships so the guards wouldn’t be able to follow them. She thunders for Ebros and the two with him to make haste and start hoisting the sails. She would need them all to weigh the anchor. Orellow was just on the ship Toby had been fighting on. She asked if he knew what happened to Mac and Toby. She wasn’t going without Mac. After this, they would triple security, and more men would come to bring ships for the ones here. They took the island today, but she wouldn’t be this fortunate again if she had to come back and save her beloved. There would be no matter of rescue or die trying. She would simply be forced to occupy the noose next to him. She looked grimly up the path, preparing herself for death. If they had taken him, she would surrender. It would do no good to be run through before she got to see his handsome face again. She wouldn’t go until the Sea’s Song and the rest of her former crew were safe though. She worked the ropes with the others as they arrived, and soon they were ready to be underway.

Things begin to happen all at once, Orellow meets up with Embros and the newcomers for few seconds. It's clear from Orellow's boisterous body language that he is talking, most likely explaining what's happening here. The two men break into a run for the ship Mac is on, with Embros pulling way ahead very quickly. The new man and woman make their way to your ship at a brisk walking pace. The man walks right onto the gangplank, stopping when the motherly woman calls up, "Permission to board Captain?" Assuming you grant your permission, both continue up onto the ship. The woman introduces herself, and her companion, "My name is Maribel, and this is Master Thom Marriland." Maribel is the name Embros gave for the woman he came to rescue. Maribel comes across as both a servant and a noble, perhaps a high noble's servant. Yes that fits. Thom comes across as, well boring. A boring man, in a boring suit that has been worn too long without being tended. His only features of note are bushy eyebrows, and a big bushy mustache. His mustache is somehow well maintained compared to his clothes. "Your man suggested that we present ourselves to you, and offer any assistance we can. I've never been on a ship, but I can follow instructions well enough." For Thom's part, he seems to be in shock. He nods agreement when Maribel mentions following instructions though. When you look up to your family and crew, you see a few extra people with them. Most you don't recognize, save one with eyes so blue you swear you can see them even from here. That fellow gives you an exaggerated formal bow, and blows you a kiss. The lot of them either repel down the cliff face or swing into the rigging of the Navy ship. Once they're all on the pier, Toby joins them from below decks and the lot of them make their way toward you along the pier. Your eyes drift to the last ship, now containing Mac, Embros and Orellow. No sign of any of them... Yet. There is a lot to do, and not a lot of time to do it in. Time to get to work. Thom Marriland

As the moustachioed man and the kindly looking woman approach the gangplank, Tsunami smiles, knowing that the rescue has at least been partially successful. She is slightly taken aback though, by the strange man’s thoughtless attempt at boarding the Sea’s Song without permission. At least the woman knows what she’s about. Tsunami graciously smiles at the woman’s words, and replies, “Ye both be welcome aboard the Sea’s Song. Once the rest o’ me crew do arrive, and me father, we’ll be settin’ sail. Mr. Merriland, I hope ye have strong arms and a good, strong back. We could use an extra pair of hands at the capstan.” She sweeps her arm toward the cylindrical device to let him know that that’s where she wants him. “Perhaps ye would like to take a position up by the helm,” Tsunami suggests to Meribel. “I don’t think me father would mind that overly much, and ye would have a wonderful view.”
She made herself busy, preparing what she could while she waited for the others to arrive. Embros and Orellow had just taken off toward the naval ship that Mac had been on. She hoped that everything was ok. What was taking them so long? Her frustration and anxiety were mounting with the not-knowing, and she tried to focus on the task on her own ship. She checked the ship’s boats for leaks or damage, running her hand across the boards to make sure that nothing escaped her eye. All looked fine.
Just then she heard a familiar whistle, and her attention was drawn to the top of the cliff. A series of ropes were hanging down to the beach, and a group of sailors were descending quickly. All except one, who was stand at the top, waving at her. Excitement and joy welled up inside her as she recognized the blue gaze that had found her. She waved back at Blue-Eyed Pete, and her heart soared with the knowledge that he was safe. Then she heard a loud voice coming from the hull of the naval vessel, and Tsunami was suddenly shrouded in a sense of guilt at almost having forgotten about Mac, albeit only for a moment. She wondered again what was taking so long.

Thom goes to stand beside the capstan, leaning upon the upraised cylinder without unstrapping one of the long wooden handles. It's clear to you that this man has never been on board a ship, or if he has, he has never worked aboard a ship. Meribel smiles warmly at your suggestion, saying, "I will happily stand wherever you wish Captain, but for the moment I could really use a female companion. I have faced daily interrogation by the warden of this facility. He is not a kind man." Her smile slips, and her eyes grow distant, but they become clear again quickly, "The only woman in sight was his secretary with those awful painted lips." She looks at you now, no longer the supplicant seeking permission, but the mother tending to her child. "Besides, I think you could use the distraction." Both of you turn as one to look at the ship were the men are hidden from sight. Assuming you allow it, she walks with you checking various things. Once you tell her what to look for, she seems able bodied enough, and is willing to work. She tells stories from the Somerset Palace, and her work as the now exiled princes' Matron. "He didn't do it you know. He couldn't have, not my Charles." She smiles then, her fondness for the prince clear on her face, but her eyes drift back to the ship as she mentions the prince. "Here they come now."
As your Father, Mother, Pete and your crew move alongside the Navy ship, Embros, Mac, and Orellow come on deck and quickly move to join the rest. The whole army of pirates begin to jog toward the Sea's Song as one. Once aboard, the crew set to work immediately, finishing the last few things needed to launch the ship. Your father takes the helm, and begins barking orders, whether they're needed or not. A crewman pushes a capstan arm into Thom's hands and sets him to work. Meribel bows to you, before taking her place near the Captain. When Blue Eyed Pete reaches the top of the gang plank, his smile splits his face in two. He moves to you, and scoops you up in his arms, spinning in a circle before putting you back on your feet, "Thank's for coming back for me Princess." He winks at you then, before darting off under the lash of the Captain's harsh tone. Orellow nimbly climbs up into the crows nest, while Embros takes up a defensive position near Meribel. Mac smiles at you as he tops the gangplank, and takes a place on the capstan. Giving you a full view of his muscled back through his still wet shirt, as he sets a quick pace getting the anchor off the sea floor. All seems right with the world.
Orellow shouts from the crow's nest, and you follow his pointed finger to see two dozen Navy soldiers running down toward the pier in rows of two.

Tsunami didn’t care where the lady stood, so long as she didn’t get in the way. As it turned out, she was actually pretty useful. Tsunami had to admit that the distraction of the woman’s stories about the palace made her job a more welcome one. The captain was amazed at them, she found it hard to believe that there were people that had jobs to complete tasks for the nobility that seemed like mundane chores. Someone actually had the job of dressing them? The idea was incredible! It reinforced her notion that the more power a landlubber seemed to have, the weaker in skills they actually possessed. She was glad of her life on the ship, and ecstatic to be putting to sea, where life made sense once again.
When Blue Eyed Pete made it to the dock and strode toward her, Tsunami’s heart almost broke in relief. She felt a wave of tension wash out of her, and as he mounted the gangplank, his piercing sky blue stare held her fast like a codfish on a gaff. Then, his arms were around her, lifting her in an enveloping hug. As he spun her in a circle, she clung to him and felt the strength of his muscles as he held her so close to him. For the first time, she became aware that he was no longer a boy. His embrace felt like her anchor to the world.
"Thanks for coming back for me, princess." His jovial voice intoned.
Princess? He had never called her that before. She was a captain, not a princess. So then why did it feel so good to hear the word coming from his lips? The captain bawled at him to get to his post, and Blue Eyed Pete set her down and tipped her a wink. Her stomach seemed to flip at that simple gesture. She felt a rush of cold in the loss of his warm arms around her as he ran off. In fact, the farther he got from her, the cooler she seemed to become. She stared after him for a moment, trying to make sense of what had just transpired there. Pete was just a friend. He was her best friend. Like a brother, wasn’t he?
She hadn’t gotten her emotions sorted out yet when Mac came aboard. As his first step fell on the deck and he smiled at her, her stomach flipped again in the same way it had a moment ago with Pete. Uh oh. What was happening to her? Too much time on land, she reasoned, that must be it. She took a place between Meribel and Captain Claybrook and watched Mac as he worked, glad that he was safe, but never having really doubted that he would be. He was just so capable, except for when he needed rescuing, that was.
Her gaze was quickly drawn away as she heard a set of barked orders from the land. There, coming in a almost perfectly synchronized double row, a troop of guards was heading down the hill to the pier. The ship had only just begun to move. Tsunami needed to buy them a few more precious moments, just long enough for the ship to be away. She concentrated, calling on Merric to aid her. The air above the docks seemed to visibly thicken. Water vapour came together to form a cloud of misty fog, obscuring the area where the docks met the water and jutted out into the bay. With any luck, it would cause them to hesitate if they couldn’t see where to run, and perhaps more than a couple of the guards would meet with a watery fall if they ventured a step too far off the boards of the dock.

Your spell worked perfectly, as the fog began to coalesces some of the guards slowed their stride while others did not. The guard's double file fell into disarray as some of the guards bumped and jostled with others. By the time the guards made it through the fog, the Sea's song was already rowing out into the bay. The men began board their ships only to discover the surprises that Mac and Toby left for them. Ropes cut most of the way through, so when tightened they snap. A Disabled rudder, so the ship can't turn properly. Lastly, and most importantly, holes drilled in the bilge steadily letting water pour into the ship. It would take a day or more for the ship to sink at this rate, and a day or more to repair everything. The Sea's Song reaches the open sea without incident, and without pursuit. As the Sea's Song makes it's way toward the Sapphire Rover, you start calling out names and telling which crew member to go to which ship. Orellow, Embros and the guests will go back on the still legitimate Sapphire Rover of course. The crew divides easily enough, right up until you reach Blue Eyed Pete. You get the feeling he's waiting for you to call his name, and your eyes drift from him to your father to Mac while you make your decision.

The roll call was hard for Tsunami, but obviously cut in black and white. As each name was called back to her fathers crew, a tiny pang of goodbye hit Tsunami squarely in the heart. She would be saying goodbye to her fathers and mother for what potentially a very long time, unless Captain Claybrook wanted to work together, which wasn’t exactly his style. However, when the roll call came to Pete, she hesitated. She had grown up with the sailor, he was her best friend. It was he that they had all risked their lives to save. Finding her father and mother had just been a lucky bonus. But he was legitamitely part of her father’s crew, and she didn’t know if her father would let her have him. Most of the pirates on the Sea’s Song were getting on in age, and a younger able bodied member of the crew was a valuable thing to have indeed. She had told Mac that he was like her brother, but as the blonde man stared at her with those piercing jovial eyes, and the half smirk playing on his lips, she wondered if that were strictly true. He was already leaning toward the side of the ship where her crew were congregated, waiting expectantly. It was obvious what his intentions were. She knew that he belonged on the Sea’s Song, but that hug he had given her when he swept her off her feet had reinforced the fact that she wasn’t ready to be parted from him.
“Blue Eyed Pete!” she called, and his smile deepened.
